PC health check, in plain words

What one check covers

Check My PC runs eight checks in a row and shows a face for each part: good, attention, needs help, or could not be read. Every finding carries the evidence it came from.

• Processor: model, cores and threads, load and clock while the check runs
• Memory: how much is installed, how much is in use, each stick's speed, and Windows' hardware error log
• Storage: drive health, free space, interface link, and a read-speed test you start yourself
• Graphics: the active adapter and whether Windows is using the proper driver
• Display: your resolution and refresh rate against what the monitor reports it can do
• Drivers: devices Device Manager is unhappy about, with the Device Manager error code explained
• Windows: version and build, Windows Update state, and any blue screens Windows recorded
• Network: adapter present and enabled, and the link speed it negotiated

Honest about what it cannot prove

A check that cannot read something says so. Findings are marked Certain, Likely or Possible, and a part Windows would not answer for is shown as could not be determined rather than quietly passed as healthy. Where a cause cannot be proven, the app lists the possibilities instead of picking one.

Then a prescription, not a puzzle

Anything that needs attention carries a What to do panel written like a doctor's prescription: numbered steps, whether it is something you can do yourself or a job for your engineer, and a button to the Windows page where the fix starts. Nothing is changed for you.
